Digital print, frame print, embroidery

The artwork consists of four toruses, sewn and filled with soft polyester. The textiles have been printed digitally and hereafter frameprinted with either paint or shiny foil, or embroidered with glass pearls. 

The motifs are edits of picture and sound from the Voyager Golden Record, the record that was sent to outer space on a spacecraft in 1977. The record contained a depiction of life on earth. The shape and presentation of the artwork explores the geometry of outer space and the question of how we as humans position ourselves in context to the rest of the universe today.
